Our modular solutions are capable of sliding under any type or size of load. Moving objects using air cushions also provides you with the unique possibility of moving your load in any 2D direction on the floor.
Accuracy to the nearest millimetre is possible by using a conical stop motion device on which the floating load will come into contact.
Air cushions provide you with the opportunity of by-passing old rigid production flows, by moving loads in the most restricted spaces.
User friendly
The thin air layer generated under an operating air cushion allows loads to be moved with almost no friction. The friction value depends on the air flow rate and floor quality. In ideal conditions, the friction is only 0.001! It seems unbelievable, but moving 1000kg requires no more than 1daN. Needless to say then that even a child could do it!
Safe
For much bigger loads, Bertin Technologies provides several solutions in assisting the air cushion driver to move the load. Using air cushions means there are no shocks or vibration, and controlled dynamics means that loads can be moved safely and securely. The maximum internal pressure in an air cushion is 4 bars which equals 4kg/cm².
This is much less than that delivered by any wheeled vehicle on the market. This means that your flooring remains perfectly intact.
